Love Lady Bridge Reeltown, AL |
The History of Love Lady Bridge Seems like just about every town has a "cry baby bridge" or some type of haunted hollar. However there is a bridge located just off of prospect road in Tallapoosa County just outside of Reeltown, Alabama that has some significant paranormal activity. This location has been known for it's paranormal activity for many years. Many locals still talk of the woman who flung herself off this bridge and killed herself and unborn infant. A sad story indeed, but our research on this location tells a slightly different story then what we had heard from the legend. The Legend of Love Lady Bridge The legend of Love Ladies Bridge has many different variations. The one I think most folks have heard are that a woman local to Reeltown of the Lovelady family was a known prostitute and when she feel in love and became pregnant by a married man she was rejected by him and in her sadness, jumped to her death from the bridge located on lovelady and prospect road. The legend grew to call the location "Lovelady's Bridge" based on the road's name and the story associated with the woman. However the different details in the story vary from person to person. Leading my researchers to believe that in part most of the story is true but not all of the story. Most of the story's point to the fact that a woman not necessarily of the Lovelady Family did indeed die on this bridge with a child more then likely in a car wreck then a suicide. Still a very sad story. Investigation of Love Lady Bridge Our team has experienced many strange and unusual anomalies at Lovelady's bridge. In particular battery failure. On almost every occasion our team has investigated the bridge most if not all of our equipment will fail in some way while on the actual bridge. Once our team leaves the bridge all equipment seems to go back to working order. We have photographed strange lights and heard strange sounds on the bridge as well. Being that the location is on a working county road makes it hard to do a very thorough investigation. However our team has some plans to get back to the bridge very soon and find some hard evidence of paranormal activity to back up our personal experiences. Evidence none at this time |
